99 Second Project
For the 99 Second Project, we researched a modern day issue in the real world and wrote a business letter about our topic to someone who could fix it. My topic was the Gender Wage Gap. First, we needed to create a Fact Sheet to organize our data. My Fact Sheet and business letter are attached below.

Next, we turned the facts from our business letter into a more informal 2-Column Script that we would use to create a 99 second informal -yet informational- video.

Then we recorded our voices for the narration of our video...
and edited our images.
Once all that was done, we edited the video in Final Cut Pro.
Finally, we were ready to post our video to Youtube. The video is below!
1. What was the most valuable thing you learned from this project?
There are actually two most valuable things I learned in this project, in my opinion. The first, how to use Final Cut Pro. I didn't know how to use the program and was always a bit intimidated by it, but now I know how simple and helpful the program is. Also, I learned numerous things to make my videos better and more professional. For example, I learned how to change the size of photos so they fit the whole screen without being blurry. I also learned how much timing matters in videos and how to make it exactly how I want it.
2. What did you do that helped you to be successful on this project?
I picked a really good partner, and we divided up the responsibilities well. For instance, I would be recording my voice for the video while she would be continuing to edit images. This helped us to complete more than one task at a time and stay on track for the project. Without splitting up and doping two tasks at once, my partner and I would have never been able to finish this project on time because it is a lot of work.
3. What advice would you give to students who will do this project in the future?
First off, choose a topic that you are passionate about. You will watch your video one thousand times while editing, and if you don't pick a topic you're interested in, you'll get bored and rush to finish. Resulting in a video that will not be very good. Also, like I mentioned in the paragraph before, pick a good partner and divide up the responsibilities. A good partner is someone who will stay on task, get the work done and get along with you well. From there, divide up the work and complete the tasks you've been given.
4. What did your teachers do well for this project?
My teachers were very helpful and supportive throughout this entire project. If my partner and I were having trouble on the script, a teacher was always there to help. With the video making process, my teacher was always there to offer feedback and assist us when we were having difficulties.
5. How could your teachers make this project better?
The only way to make this project better, would be to give us more time to complete our videos. Although my partner and I divided up the work and got our video done by the deadline, it was very stressful. There is so much work to be done in order to make the videos perfect, and the time we were given was barely enough. If we had had an extra few days, my partner and I could have made our video even better than it is now, and we would not have been as stressed throughout the process.
