The Cardboard Catastrophe Project
For this project, we had to create some sort of compilation of shapes, for example; dinosaurs, robots, etc. After we drafted our creation, we needed to build it out of cardboard and decorate it. Next, we needed to find the volume and surface area of each shape in our creation. In addition to finding the surface area and volume of all our shapes, we also needed to do some worksheets to master the formulas used in finding the volume and surface area of almost every 3D shape. In this project I learned how to find the surface area and volume of 3D shapes. I enjoyed doing this project because we could work at our own pace and I could clearly see how the math was used during the project/could be used in our everyday lives.
