Sample Work
This part of my digital portfolio will highlight some of my sample work from our math/physics class.
Motion in 1D
In our study of motion in 1D, we learned about Distance, Displacement, Speed, Velocity, Scalar and Vector Qualities, and Acceleration. And by learning these elements, we were able to learn about and create our own Motion Stories, Velocity-Time Graphs and Position-Time Graphs.
Our Three Key Ideas About Motion in 1D
When learning about Motion in 1D, we had three key ideas to learn from. The first key idea was: "The slope of a position time graph tells us about an object's velocity." The second key ideas was: "The slope of a velocity time graph, tells us about an object's acceleration." Lastly, the third key idea was: "The are under a velocity time graph (bound by axis and line) is equal to the displacement of the object."
A Motion Story, A Position Time Graph, and A Velocity Time Graph
Motion Story: The moving man walks from his home to the tree at a constant speed. But he turns around and runs back to his house because he realizes he forgot to grab a snack. He grabs the snack, then walks at a fast, but constant, speed to the tree. When he gets there, he sits and eats his food for a while before returning home to his house.
